|Name: Scud Brown|
Scuds are tiny light-colored crustaceans of the amphipod group. They are translucent, free swimming, shrimp-like animals that are an important part of fish food-chain where ever they are found. When scuds die they turn orange or pink. This fly resembles these freshwater crustaceans found along weed beds in lakes and rivers. The pearl back adds the appearance of a shell and gives it a little flash.
